Pirate Bay’s view of SOPA and PIPA

Via Scoop.itAlt Digital
Over a century ago Thomas Edison got the patent for a device which would “do for the eye what the phonograph does for the ear”. He called it the Kinetoscope. He was not only amongst the first to record video, he was also the first person to own the copyright to a motion picture.   Because of Edisons patents for the motion pictures it was close to financially impossible to create motion pictures in the North american east coast. The movie studios therefor relocated to California, and founded what we today call Hollywood. The reason was mostly because there was no patent. There was also no copyright to speak of, so the studios could copy old stories and make movies out of them – like Fantasia, one of Disneys biggest hits ever.

Editorial: The Bubble Is Meant to Dumb Us Down

Via Scoop.itSecular Curated News & Views
Google and other Corporations online seek to put us into a commodized dumb down bubble to create the perfect comsumer. You’ll never see any uncomfortable offensive material as everything you find online will conform to your particular way of thinking. Christians will be Christian results & ahteists will see atheist results.   The Corporation has been terrified at the free and open Internet. The Corporation wants ‘The Spectacle’ to reign supreme and no other form of interaction with others or with yourself must not be allowed. The last thing the 1% want you to realize is the fact that 99% is the majority.    They want you to believe that money buys elections when in fact all the 99% need do is vote for their own interest and the 99% have the votes. All the money spent on ads won’t do any good if the 99% simply vote their interest. Money doesn’t win elections, votes win elections. The 99% have the votes. Up till now, the 99$ haven’t had the will. The last time the 99% stood up for their interest was when the 1% put 50% of us on the streets during the Great Depression of 1933    The one resson and the only reason FDR was able to pass a secular social safety net is because FDR had the backing of wethepeople. GWObams has seen for that in the  last forty years wethepeople have given up and allowed the rich to complete dominate polititics. This is why GWObama is trying to compromise, he knows the rich want it all and he’s doing his best to keep what he can for wethepeople.    All that GWObama needs is for wethepeople to take our power back and he could give us real Single Payer National Health Care, real welfare reform and earlier retirement with full social security benefits. Instead wethepeople remain compliant, cowering, conforming and economically terrified.    If you wonder why GWObama sides with the 1% let me remind you. John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Bobby Kennedy, John Lennon, Paul Wellstone, need I go on? Without the power of the people demanding politicians deliver or they won’t get the people’s vote politicians must also cower, conform and comply to the 1% the same as their constituents do.    The bubble of the Spectacle or the free range of real life. This is our choice. We are about to lose the Web just as we lost radio to Corporate interest, as we lost TV to Corporate interests, Internet is the last public media access left. Will we continue to lose it or will we keep Facebooking ourselves to death?   L8R, plasmaborne4rel
